Wheat Crust Pizza Recipe
Crust Ingredients - 3 1/2 cups of whole wheat flour - 1 1/2 cup of hot water - 1 tablespoon olive oil - 1 tablespoon active dry yeast - 1 tablespoon brown sugar - 1 tablespoon honey - 1 teaspoon salt
Pizza Ingredients - Italian Sausages - Pepperoni - Shredded Cheese - Anything else you want...
Other - Kitchen-Aid Mixer w/ dough hook - Paring Knife - 15 minutes to mix - 1 hour to raise in refrigerator
Cook - 7-13 minutes on 450 degrees
Start by filling your mixing bowl with the one and half cups of hot water. It must be hot or the yeast won't work. Most people recommend a specific temperature for the water, but I just use the hottest water available from my faucet and I've never had any issues.
Add the 1 tablespoon active dry yeast.
Measure out the 3 1/2 cups of flour into a separate container.
Mix in the flour while the mixer is on low.
The dough will start to look like this when it is done:
Put the dough in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
Cook the sausages on the stove or in the oven until done:
Use the paring knife to slice them 1/2 inch thick:
The dough should have raised after an hour:
Spread the dough onto a pre-heated pizza stone:
Add your other ingredients:
Put your pizza in the oven:
Pull out when it looks like so. Then eat it and enjoy!
